Detailed Itinerary
At around 3:00 PM, your private guide and comfortable scooter with professional driver will pick you up from your hotel in Siem Reap and begin a scenic ride into the countryside. Our first stop is West Baray, the vast man-made reservoir built in the 11th century during the Angkor period. Today, this historic water system continues to play a vital role in supporting local agriculture, supplying water to more than 1,000 families. With its expansive horizon and tranquil atmosphere, West Baray feels like a natural lake and remains a favorite gathering place for locals for picnics and swimming.
Continuing along quiet back roads, we visit local communities to observe traditional village crafts, including the making of kralanh (sticky rice cooked in bamboo) and hand-woven basketry from local vines. These authentic encounters offer a deeper insight into everyday rural life around Siem Reap.
As the afternoon light softens, we ride onward to Angkor Thom, where a traditional wooden gondola boat (Kong Kea), rowed by local boatmen, awaits on the ancient moat. Gently gliding across the water, you will enjoy a peaceful sunset with reflections of the historic stone walls and surrounding forest—an elegant and intimate way to experience Angkor at day’s end.
After sunset, your guide and driver will escort you back to your hotel in Siem Reap, concluding a refined and memorable cultural journey.
