Detailed Itinerary

This full-day experience combines ethical wildlife encounters, cultural discovery, and an active jungle trek in the countryside of Siem Reap.Your private guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel and travel approximately 37 km north of Siem Reap to the Cambodia Elephant Sanctuary. Upon arrival, you will join a shared small-group program led by the sanctuary’s professional team for a two-hour immersive experience. Learn about elephant conservation and welfare, prepare food for the elephants, and interact with them responsibly in their natural environment. The experience includes joining the elephants in a mud bath and a refreshing river bath, followed by a short coffee break at the sanctuary. After the sanctuary visit, continue to the beautifully preserved Banteay Srei Temple, renowned for its intricate pink sandstone carvings and fine Khmer artistry. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant nearby. In the afternoon, begin a physical trekking experience to Kbal Spean, a forest trail leading uphill to a sacred river site where ancient Hindu carvings of lingas and deities are carved directly into the riverbed. Known as the “River of a Thousand Lingas,” Kbal Spean offers a rewarding walk through the jungle and a deeper understanding of Angkor-era spirituality and the relationship between nature and religion. After completing the trek, return to Siem Reap, arriving in the late afternoon.

Most nationalities are eligible for a one-month visa on arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport, Siem Reap International Airport, and at all land borders with neighboring countries. A hat and high-SPF sunblock are essential for protection from the strong sun while sightseeing.T-shirts and knee-length shorts are generally acceptable when visiting temples or pagodas, including Angkor Wat. Shoes are usually removed at the entrance to pagodas. However, for visits to the Silver Pagoda within the Royal Palace grounds, visitors are advised to wear long trousers or long skirts. At the Angkor Wat complex, you will be on your feet and walking extensively, sometimes over rough or slippery surfaces, so please choose your footwear carefully. Shoes with good traction are highly recommended.
