Pick up time: 2.00 PM – 2.30 PM, please wait for our driver and tour guide between 30 minutes at your hotel lobby.
Departure time: 2.30 PM, our guide and driver will drive you to Kampong Phluk Floating Village in Tonle Sap Lake, on the way you will view the scenery of small villages, rice paddies and local market.
On arrival, we will embark on the Khmer Traditional Boat to ride to the floating village and the boat ride will take about 30 minutes through the small canal. Visit the villages that are living on the stilted houses and floating houses.
A boat trip on the Tonle Sap is a pleasant break from temple roving and gives visitors chance to see a fishing village. All the way visitors will see the fishermen and their families who live on the water and form the so-called floating village, Kampong Phluk. The village is located in the only floating commune, Kampong Phluk, about 25 km from Siem Reap provincial town.
The Tonle Sap is the largest permanent freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. As the main source of fishing and agriculture to people living on the surrounding plain, it has played an important role in Angkor throughout history. The lake is connected to the Mekong River by Tonle Sap River joined at Phnom Penh. The hydrological process that cause the lake to increase in size during the monsoon rains, and then recede, is believed to be of importance in maintaining the ecological system of the lake, which includes various specifies of fish and birds.
6.00 PM, we drive back to Siem Reap and drop you off at your hotel in town.
