Village Cooking Class & Kayaking

A full-day unforgettable experience to learn about the Cambodian lifestyle in the countryside and floating villages on Tonle Sap Lake. Ride on a scooter or tuk-tuk with an experienced tour guide to the green village that is full of vegetable gardens and local farms. Walking through the village to see the daily activities of the villagers, learning to cook Khmer food in the village house, and gentle kayaking through the floating village on Tonle Sap Lake.

At 8.30 AM, the guide and motorbike driver pick you up from the hotel and ride you through the villages, get many stops on the way to visit the duck farm, lotus farms, rice paddies, and weaving activities from the villagers. Get into one of the Khmer Traditional Houses where we will meet Mr. Ron and his family, a warm greeting with a big smile from the family members, and then Mr. Ron will bring you around his garden to see different vegetables and ingredients before starting a cooking class with his wife, Madam Sina. Next, enjoy the 3-dish cooking class with Madam Sina, these are Mango Salad, Samlo Koko, and Loklak. After lunch, we continue to drive to Mechreay Floating Village boat pier, on arrival we embark on the long tail boat to ride to the remote pagoda where we will experience the Monk Blessing Ceremony. Then continue to ride the boat to Mechrey Floating Village. On arrival at the floating village, our guide and the local ranger will arrange the kayak for you to paddle through the village and continue to kayak in the mangrove forest. Ride the boat back to the pier, disembark the boat and our drive will take you back to Siem Reap.
